Week starting 14th April (Cycle 24/25)

Day 5: Periods 6/7 Tuesday

Classwork: ongoing
Some of the hanging baskets are nearly finished. The other students are beginning to improve their concentration and are showing determination.
This double lesson will be the last lesson to complete the individual hanging baskets as we need to move on to Part 2 of the project. Some extra time will be provided to complete the individual baskets.
Safety first: all students should remember good safety behaviour when working in the DT workshop. Especially giving enough space for others working there.
Clearing up: This class does a reasonable job of clearing up the workshop at the end of the lesson.

Homework:
Last lesson was a single period, therefore no Journal is required.
However, too many students 'forgot' their previous Journal - they have received a yellow card, and their missed homework is expected in the DT dropbox as soon as possible.
ADDED RESPONSIBILITY
G6TS students are caring for seeds and seedlings. The class has set up a watering rota in the morning break - it is the students' responsibility to do the watering, and to sign off on the check sheet. Please remember - plants with no water will die!!
Some of the seedlings are beginning to grow well....other seeds are still not growing! Keep watering.

Week starting 31st March (Cycle 23)

Day 3: Period 1 Thursday, 3rd April

Classwork: ongoing
Working on student individual designs for hanging baskets
The baskets are near completion, students need to plan their class time effectively. They will be given a definitive deadline for completion.
Homework:
It is important for the students to remember they need to keep up to date with their Process Journal - see guide lines above. Many students have not done this, and it is an important record to the evidence of creation. If not done, or kept up to date, this will affect their achievement level.
The general guideline, is no homework after a single period, but IMPORTANT after a double period. Students need to check which of their Process Journal entries are missing, and put into the drop box this week.
ADDED RESPONSIBILITY
